The Mooc (For tourism professionals, tourists & visitors)

The MOOC is an open access learning program that helps tourism stakeholders and visitors to better understand the impacts of tourism on our environment. Through 6 main lessons (waste, energy, water, food, mobility and heritage), it also introduces them to sustainable practices, able to reduce the ecological footprint of tourism activities. This new knowledge and know-how will find an echo in our daily life to strengthen common efforts towards sustainability.

Transfer methodology (For Public & Private Sector, Institutions, Tourism offices)

This methodology defines how to carry out an awareness-raising action with a target audience, based on an analysis of the experiments that have taken place in the territories of the consortium. It can guide a non knowing individual to promote the process of transmission of practices through experimentation : the different partners of the consortium will, following a dissemination plan, experiment the training tools on their own territories, and pull some very interesting lessons and specificities of their area.

Competency framework (For trainers and educators)

This referential aims to define the skills that are necessary for the participants, in ensuring the functioning of the ECHO system. It therefore implies establishing skills profiles for all audiences likely to be trained. It covers:

All the acquired experience and technical skills necessary for a good understanding of the issues encountered in the field
An understanding of the social dimension of the device
All the relational and personal fields of competence needed to coordinate, carry and animate the device.

Eco gestures guide (For tourism professionals, Tourists & visitors)

This deliverable is used as an awareness-raising tool that addresses directly the target audience : tourism professionals and tourists. It consists of practical, fun, and concrete sheets taken from the MOOC, which conclude the different lessons. Users are able to extract from the guide the sheets that interest them in each topic, which are:

Transport and mobility

Waste

Water

Energy

Alimentation and agriculture

Natural and cultural heritage

To get an alternative way into this guide, a few sets have been arranged as, for example : “the five more family-friendly eco-gestures” or “the five easiest eco-gestures”, “the five cheapest eco-gestures”, etc…

Monitoring platform (For tourism professionals, Tourists & visitors)

As part of the positive energy family inspiration of the project, and to build upon the ludic, participative and concrete aspect of Echo-Tourism,a monitoring platform has been especially created for the participants to have the possibility of monitoring their daily water and energy consumption, as well as freely access the training content (particularly the MOOC). The platform offers a customisable space on which they can enter their information and is mainly reserved for people registered in the program and that have accepted the contractual clauses for using the platform.
Once the numerical data logged by participants (Kwh of electricity or m3 of water used for example), they are saved and accumulated to produce graphs and follow the evolution of the consumptions. Seeing the concrete impact of an action is always a very good motivation to keep doing it.. and even to try doing more !
